He gets back to his place, alone. This was not how he pictured it'd be when he got back from Vegas. He goes and grabs some roses and knocks on her door, half an hour later.

I swing open the door, not in any higher spirits than I was yesterday but with considerably drier eyes, and narrow my eyes at Casey. In his hand is a bouquet of roses.

Val watches Adam move to the edge of the bar, his big body maneuvering through the crowd of people effortlessly as he calls for the bartender's attention. The man hesitates for a moment and then thinks better of it. Then, he grabs his wallet out of his pocket and pulls out two twenties. Adam grins and slides them into his hand. "Oh, pal, you shouldn't have," he jokes, giving the man the fakest of friendly smiles and giving him a pat on the back that'll leave one nice bruise the next day. "But, if you insist..."

He turns back to Casey and claps a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Here's to not having to bail me out tonight, huh?"

Casey looks at him,"Just concentrate on getting the drinks and doing whatever else it is you do..." He walks off and over to Elissa.

Val looks at Adam,"Well thanks anyways, so..what do you do for a living Mr.Protector?" As she takes a shot finally.

Adam considers his answer. If she's friends with Lissa, she must know quite a bit about Christian. He takes a shot and sets it back down. "Well, I guess there's no cutting around the bush here. I, my lady, am an escort."

I quirk an eyebrow at Casey. His eyes are dancing with boyish mischief, and I can't exactly say no. I'm kind of anxious to see how this game ends. Adam isn't exactly hard on the eyes.

"No unnecessary touching," I warn. "And don't let the girls get too into it, or I'll be the one you'll end up bailing out of jail tonight."
